It has been a really fun week at work…Christina arrived Tuesday and throughout the week she has been implementing the detailed photo shoot plan we agreed on over a month ago. This is the 4th photo shoot and for each one we have followed the same steps – Christina is uber organized!! First I give Christina a general idea of the types of photos I would like to focus on, then she gathers together a lot of “inspirational” images for us to review, and finally we have a (long) phone call in which we go through all the ideas and decide on what shots we will do. From this, Christina makes a detailed schedule for the week as well as a detailed prop list for me and a detailed bakers’ list for Andrea.
The images I have attached may look simple but were the result of deciding on a “rustic wedding theme” and then finding a model, deciding on and ordering the appropriate flowers (thank you Kate!!) and searching the internet for a tiered wooden tower (added bonus: we now have two great new towers to rent to brides and grooms). Similar steps were required for the Valentine’s shots, the “business man holding a cupcake” shot (no model needed, thank you Andrew), the “tough guy holding a cupcake with a paper umbrella” and so on.
Here is a picture taken by Margarita, our catering coordinator, of the wedding shoot in action:
And here is one of the final images we all loved:
For me, the creative aspects of running a small business are some of the most rewarding ones for sure and notwithstanding the work involved, the photo shoot is always a favourite event for me.
