It’s here, it’s here, the cookbook is here!

I

FullSizeRenderOk, I have no idea why the photo is sideways – it is right way up on my desktop but, somehow, it is refusing to load into the post that way. Yesterday Andrew had a crazy day but he still spent his 20 minute break helping me fix a PowerPoint so I am “not” going to bother him now with a sideways photo. But I’m way too excited about sharing my very first (and currently, only) copy of The Prairie Girl Cupcake Cookbook to be held back by an uncooperative photo.

The copy landed on my desk last night…it won’t be available for purchase until mid January but after working on it for close to two years, it is amazing to have it in my hands. I am so grateful to everyone at Penguin Random House who brought this to life…I received the initial email from Robert McCullough, editor of Appetite by Random House in January of 2014 and throughout the process have been really lucky to work with Zoe Maslow, the book’s editor, and Terri Nimmo, the designer. Zoe’s and Terri’s enthusiasm for the project was so genuine and warm, it was heartwarming and made the work worthwhile.

The beautiful photography in the book was the result of an intense photo shoot last fall and I can’t thank Christina Varro enough for her hard work on the project. I am not sure Christina set out to become a renowned cupcake photographer but after 5 years at it, she is the best of the best.

I was able to share the book with Christina this morning – she is here this week for the first photo shoot for Cakes by Prairie Girl…a project I need to return to now…
