Fall rush

IMG_2232I admire the bloggers who blog each and every week…I find that when I get busy, I tend to put off writing a post. Like the last 2 weeks. Sorry about that!

Christina arrives next Tuesday and the rest of the week she and Julie, our new Head Cake Designer, will be taking photos of the 28 Prairie Girl Collection cakes.  Julie has been working on the “dummy cakes” since she started September 8th. (September 8th, a month ago today…unbelievable how time flies!)

The photo above shows the meeting room where some of the PGC cakes are sitting right now…others are tucked away in nooks and crannies around the back. We’ve ordered clear shelving so that after the photo shoot these amazing cakes (made of foam layers of course) can be viewed by our everyday clientele at both the Yorkville and Victoria stores.

The Cakes by Prairie Girl website will be launched – with these photos- in mid November, we hope.

In the meantime, it is time to celebrate Thanksgiving! Three of our children are coming for turkey dinner on Saturday and I am really looking forward to cooking it.  Ted can’t make the weekend but arrives Monday for the week – he’s hoping to score Jays’ tickets but I think the chance of that is nil. The playoffs start today and the team ordered a huge order of cupcakes to get things off to a sweet start…GO JAYS!! IMG_2464Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for reading my blog!
