Annual photo shoot

A

As we do once every year, this week we are converting our meeting room to a photo studio. Since we have had the same 15-item everyday cupcake menu since the beginning – and we only introduce 3-5 new Treats of the Week each year – you might wonder why it is necessary to take new pictures every year. I think the best answer to that question is that since cupcakes are the only thing we sell, it’s important for us to always have new and different ways to entice our customers to serve cupcakes at holidays, weddings and other special events – and to think of our product not just as “cupcakes” but maybe also as guest favours, hostess gifts, and tokens of employee appreciation. And as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

This year for example we have a line up of images including:

  • A “rustic wedding” to appeal to brides looking for the latest trends,
  • A boardroom table set up for a coffee break with PGB cupcakes,
  • One of our new Thanksgiving-motif boxes arranged on a bed of autumn leaves.

A question I am often asked, and one that always gives me pause, is whether we will ever expand our offering beyond cupcakes- what about macrons, coffee, water, shortbread – hey maybe savoury cupcakes like smoked salmon with cream cheese topping!  Never say never, but for now I like the focus we have on just doing one product really well. But as part of that focus I think it is important to do everything  we can, like holding an annual photo shoot, to keep our product line fresh and interesting to the customers who visit our website.

Stay tuned because next week I will post some of  our favourites from the week’s photo shoot 🙂
