I believe that my varied background helps me quickly join clients in an exploration of what’s troubling them. By exploring the problem from different angles and talking about clients’ preferred future without the problem, often clients can connect the dots on how best to go from “here” to “there”.
I am a graduate of the Toronto Institute of Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP)
I am open to working with you however feels best for you, including being open and welcoming of clients who want to see a therapist for a brief time, perhaps only a single session and who are not interested in a deep exploration of their past.
Research indicates that up to nearly 60% of clients seeking therapy went only once; my belief is that this is not because people are being irresponsible but rather that they alone know when they need therapy – and their current interest in engaging in it.
For these reasons, my practice is based on the idea that you are in control of the process and that we will meet at the frequency you choose: if you prefer to meet once, twice or weekly for a time, all those options work well with me.
