10,000 Coffees

1

A few months ago I was asked to join “10,000 Coffees” which is a virtual coffee shop where people with some sort of experience can be invited for coffee by a person hoping to follow a similar path, or interested for some reason in the so-called expert’s career. Their site describes their purpose as follows:

Business leaders go for coffee all the time, but they’re restricted to their personal networks of friends and family. Ten Thousand Coffees is democratizing the coffee experience by opening it up to youth all over Canada.

I have met so far with a handful of people – novices as they are called – and have really enjoyed these meetings. The program is set up so that there is an exchange of information beforehand and I like that. It is helpful to know in advance  what a person is looking for when  he or she wants to meet.

You can check them out for yourself [see their link at the bottom]. From my experience to date, the people who have contacted me for a coffee are well prepared and really interested in hearing about the business world. Whether you’d fit into the novice or the expert category, this is an innovation worth checking out. (And really, we’re all novices in some fields and experts in others!)
